Lewa is conservation royalty: a UNESCO World Heritage Site that pioneered community-led wildlife protection and shelters over 200 rhino. Because it's a private conservancy, you can do things the national parks forbid — bush walks with armed rangers, horseback safaris alongside the herds, and night drives. Wildlife density is superb (it's a key Grevy's zebra refuge), the lodges are intimate, and your stay directly funds the rhino programme.

Day by day
What each day looks like, from pickup in Nairobi to drop-off.
Fly or drive in (north past Mount Kenya). Afternoon game drive — rhino in the first hour is common here. Sundowner over the plains.
Morning bush walk or horseback safari among the plains game. Afternoon rhino-tracking with the conservancy team. Optional night drive for aardvark and bushbaby.
Dawn drive for big cats, brunch, then fly or drive out — easily combined with Samburu or the Mara.

It's a private conservancy, so walking safaris, horseback rides and night drives are all permitted, vehicle numbers are capped, and your fees fund one of Africa's most successful rhino programmes. Wildlife density rivals the big parks with a fraction of the crowds.
Will I see rhino?+
Almost certainly — Lewa holds 200+ black and white rhino across open plains, so sightings are reliable, often within the first drive.
Can I combine Lewa with other parks?+
