About this experience
Amboseli is the shortest route to the classic East African photo: elephants crossing the marsh with a snow-capped Kilimanjaro behind them. This two-day version gets you there and back from Nairobi with an afternoon and a morning of drives — enough to find the big tusker families and, if the mountain clears at dawn, that unforgettable view. A great short safari, and an easy first trip.

What each day looks like, from pickup in Nairobi to drop-off.
Morning drive south to Amboseli, arriving for lunch. Afternoon game drive across the marshes and open pans — the great elephant herds, plus zebra, wildebeest and the birdlife of the swamps. Dinner and overnight at a lodge or tented camp.

Will I see Kilimanjaro?+
Best chance is at dawn and dusk, before cloud builds on the peak — which is exactly when this itinerary has you out on drives. January–February and clear mornings are the most reliable.
Is Amboseli good for elephants?+
It's one of the best places on earth for them — big, relaxed family herds with some of the largest tuskers left in Africa.
