About this experience

Proof that a great Mara safari doesn't have to cost a fortune. You sleep in a proper serviced tent (beds, not bivvies) at a campsite on the edge of the reserve, eat hearty meals cooked fresh by a camp chef, and share a window-seat 4x4 with a small group. The wildlife doesn't know you booked the budget option — you'll see the same big cats, the same plains, the same sunsets. Ideal for backpackers, students and anyone who'd rather spend on experiences than thread count.

Hot-air balloon safari from$450
Signature experience

Lift off at dawn over the plains, drift silently above the herds, and land to a champagne bush breakfast. The definitive Mara morning.

Maasai village visit from$20

Spend an hour in a working manyatta — the jumping dance, fire-making, and a look at daily Maasai life, hosted by the community itself.

Private bush dinner from$60

A lantern-lit table set out under the stars, your own chef and a crackling fire — the safari dinner people remember for years.

Night game drive from$55

Common questions

How basic is 'serviced camping'?+

More comfortable than it sounds — a standing tent with a proper bed, mattress and bedding, shared hot-bucket showers and flush toilets, and a chef cooking real meals. You're not pitching anything or cooking. Think of it as a no-frills tented camp.

Will the budget option see less wildlife?+

No — you're in the same reserve, on the same plains, with the same guides. The savings come from the accommodation and a shared vehicle, not from where or how you game-drive.

I'm travelling solo — will I pay a single supplement?+

On the shared camping departures, no — we pair solo travellers in same-gender tent shares, or you can pay a small supplement for your own tent. Just tell us your preference.
