The Chyulu Hills are some of the youngest mountains on Earth — rolling green volcanic ridges between Amboseli and Tsavo, with Kilimanjaro as a constant backdrop. This is a private wilderness (part of a Maasai-owned conservancy) so it's exclusive and quiet: horseback safaris, mountain-biking, walking with Maasai guides, and lava-tube caves. Do I need to ride to enjoy this trip?+
Not at all — riding is optional. Game drives, guided walks, biking and the lava caves are all on offer, and the views of Kilimanjaro alone justify the trip.
Is it really that exclusive?+
Yes — vehicle numbers are tightly capped on the conservancies, so sightings are intimate and you'll rarely see another car. It's a step up in privacy from the national parks.
